Update: Workshop Schedule
The Robotics group at IIT Delhi will hold the First Workshop on "Haptics and Virtual Reality in Robotics Applications" at IIT Delhi on 9th and 10th of July 2011. Participation from researchers at Research Labs, Industry and post graduate students working in the general area of Robotics are invited to attend this workshop.
Humans close a force loop through the muscles and a position loop through the eyes. In attempting to execute tasks remotely in environments that have evolved for precision human operation, it is hence essential to make both haptics and visual feedback available to the user. The workshop will present learnings from a coordinated effort in IIT Delhi to build up expertise in remote presence.
The workshop schedule is here.
The following speakers have agreed to deliver keynote/plenary talks in the workshop.
Prof Subhasis Chaudhuri (IIT Bombay)
Prof P J Narayan (IIIT Hyderabad)
Prof Santanu Chaudhury (IIT Delhi)
Prof Prem Kumar Kalra (IIT Delhi)
Prof Sudipto Mukherjee (IIT Delhi)
Prof Subodh Kumar (IIT Delhi)
Prof M. Manivannan(IIT Madras)
The Institute has a collaborative research project sponsored by BRNS on Autonomous Robotics. There are 25 seats for post-graduate students and faculty in research and training Institutes in India.
